So you want to do something with your life. You want to make it big. You want to make a difference.
At least for some of us, this is what we aspire to do. It’s how we see our lives unfolding. We all have hope. We all have dreams.
When you envision your path through life from where you stand now, the only thing clear is what you hope to accomplish.
Unfortunately, hope is not a vehicle for success. And I’m proof of this.
But, you must understand one thing before we move on. I’m not here to lie…
“Because you’ve always lacked direction,” isn’t a phrase anyone wants to hear, especially when it comes from yourself. Not that I’m accustomed to talking to myself out loud, but in this case, that’s exactly what happened — sort of.
If that doesn’t make sense, trust me I felt the same at the time when I “told myself” this bitter truth.
I’d spoken to myself in a dream. The dream must’ve come when I was in a deep sleep, and felt absolutely real.
I was talking to a younger version of myself, however, this avatar (me, as it was) seemed to…
A high school diploma might not come with the greatest accolades, and it doesn’t always land you a job in today’s world, but the day you get your diploma might just teach someone a valuable lesson.
In life, we spend a lot of time going through the motions. Wake up, go to work, go to school, decompress, sleep — rinse, repeat. You might get to spoil yourself on the weekends, but that’s all part of the same routine, too.
And, this is the routine of letting time pass.
Things come and go. Time gets wasted. And, much of…
Have you ever been in a situation where you have something so pure in thought, something so heartfelt to say, but then you can’t seem to say it when the time comes?
If you answered “yes,” then you’re not alone.
Speaking truthfully, from a genuine place, is something humans naturally do as children. A child is brutally honest, but this is because the world has not yet taken us in its grasp. And, once we find ourselves in the palm of the world, once we reach adolescence, our own critical, stifling self-awareness takes hold.
This continues on — long into…
You have a gift. We all do.
You see things differently. You see beauty where pain exists. You see love where struggle leaves its mark. And, you see color in the unused margins of life.
But, sometimes, you struggle to use your gift. You don’t use it even when you know you should. You procrastinate. You make excuses. You watch time pass, taking your ideas along with it.
You have great ideas, but they never see paper. You start things, but never finish them.
Like many artists and creative people, your blessing is also your curse. …
I’m going to tell you something you probably already know.
You could be much happier.
Life brings us all down. It beats the hell out of some of us and keeps pounding away. How? Money is tight. The kids are getting in trouble at school. Your relationship is on the rocks. Work is unfulfilling and your sex life is robotic.
You could keep going, doing the same thing you’re doing right now. But what would that change? Would you be any happier than you were yesterday?
Human beings have so much untapped potential. It pains me to see…
Life can be tough sometimes — I think we can all admit this. Life is also expensive, simple, beautiful, and tragic. Above all, life is full of hard choices and sometimes it leaves you wondering what life is really for anyway, right?
Sometimes, life is really great. And, at other times — it really sucks.
But what if I told you that life isn’t supposed to be so tough? What if I told you that you’re missing the bigger picture — that you have been going through the motions, but not actually living. Well, we all do it.
You’ve probably stared at the blank screen for more than a few minutes wondering just how to start writing. Don’t worry. If this is you, you’re not alone. We all go through our stages of block.
But what if I told you there is a foolproof method, a formula for generating content ideas that’s been around for nearly a century?
I’ll go out on a limb and say you’d be interested.
Today, it’s estimated that over 7.5 million blog posts will be published. Feel free to read that again. …
Are you a smoker? Do you vape?
Addicted to alcohol? Sex? Marijuana? Do you spend every waking hour on social media?
Aside from vaping, I’ve been addicted to all of the aforementioned to some degree.
Here’s how I quit, and so can you.
If I were to scroll through stories on Instagram or Facebook, I’m willing to bet I’ll run across the mention of “self-love” more than fifty times.
Self-love has become trendy, and the trend has been changing for more than a few years now. Just Google self-love and see how many memes and images you come up with. And, though the foundation for this movement is one (like many) that was popularized with good intentions, it has found its way into the masses who (as usual) don’t have a full understanding of its true philosophy.
Self-love is largely being replaced with…
